The member representing Orumba North/South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Okwudili Ezenwankwo, August 18, attended a thanksgiving mass at his home parish, Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Nanka, Orumba North L.G.A Anambra State. The thanksgiving Mass was to appreciate God for his victory in the last National Assembly Election.
Speaking at the event, Hon Ezenwankwo thanked God for his grace to be alive to celebrate with his Friends and well-wishers, constituents and political associates, describing it as the best day of his life.
This was even as he commended the faithful for their support during his election campaign. Noting that he was in the National Assembly because of the support they bestowed on him, he assured them of quality representation.
He thanked in a special way, the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, for his support and encouragement and re-assured him of his total support and loyalty.
He maintained that Anambra State was the safest state in the Southeast, noting that in terms of security, the state ranked first. Hon Ezenwankwo recalled that during his campaign he made a promise to change the face of Orumba North/South, and assured that with their collective support he would fulfill the promise.
Also speaking, Gov Obiano, described the thanksgiving mass as a way of showing gratitude to God, noting that despite his busy schedule, he was able to celebrate with Hon Ezenwankwo.
Obiano, who commended the celebrant for all the things he was able to achieve, assured that he would do everything within his power to see that Anambra became crime free.
He disclosed that he was about to launch Operation Wipe Out, even as he said that his administration would work tirelessly to see that some roads that were in poor state were constructed.
For his part, The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev Paulinus Ezeokafor, commended Gov Obiano for what he had done so far in the state, especially in the area of security.
He advised him to beef up the security network so that the people of the state would not witness what was happening in neighbouring states.
Bishop Ezeokafor charged Obiano not to allow the menace of Fulani herdsmen taking place in neighbouring states to get to Anambra State, and called on all elected public office holders to always remember that their constituents who voted them needed their support and quality representative.
