Guber Ambition: Young Catholics with Fresh Anointing Intercede for Senator Ubah

By Michael Nnebife

The newly anointed and commissioned young children of St Lawrence Chapel, Awka, have taken the governorship aspiration of the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Dr Ifeanyi Ubah, to God.

The young Catholics with humility and zeal approached the senator, shortly after the  administration of the Sacrament of Comfirmation by the Bishop, Catholic Diocese of Awka, Most Rev Dr Paulinus Ezeokafor, recently at St Lawrence Chapel.

The newly anointed children in their characteristic manner solemnly beckoned the Senator from his seat, as the chairman of the second part of the occasion of a Pastoral Visit to the chapel, saying ‘sir, we want to pray for you.

‘We humbly pray our good Lord to grant all your heart’s desires.

‘May He continue to bless you, guide and protect you,’ the children prayed.

The senator who was elated by the magnanimity of the children and the opportunity given to him to chair the occasion, thanked Bishop Ezeokafor, and applauded the benefactor of the chapel, Senator Uche Ekwunife for recognizing the importance of making God the chief cornerstone of whatever one does.

He expressed gratitude to the entire members of the chapel, especially the children for their support to him, noting that ‘spiritual blessing is the most important.’

Senator Ubah underscored the impressive contribution of Christianity to the well-being of humanity in the Igbaland and the world.

He said, ‘If not for Christianity, people would’ve been practising cannibalism today.

‘I’m asking God to use a political instrument, most especially in Anambra State, to wipe out our tears,’ Ubah prayed.
