The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has been commended for his sagacity and hospitality in organising a rousing visit for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Anambra State.

The commendation was made by a prominent community leader, Archbishop Onyeka Nzekwesi, when he spoke to the press at his residence recently.

Archbishop Nzekwesi, referring to Nigeria’s Anthem, “Though tribe and tongue may differ, in brotherhood we stand”, said that the proclamation of the National Anthem could be realized if people put them in practice and not for mere verbalization.

He said that by the visit of President Tinubu, Governor Soludo had championed the practicalisation of the National Anthem by mobilizing people, irrespective of political affiliation, to turn out and give the President a rousing welcome to manifesting the love Anambra People had for their President.

He said that this fulfilled the objectives of the founding fathers of Nigeria who fought for a country that could achieve unity, peace, and prosperity in diversity.

Archbishop Nzekwesi who is the Presiding Bishop of the Jesus Is Alive Church, Eziowelle, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State, also referred to the biblical injunction which directs every person to subject themselves to the governing authorities as there is no authority except from God. (Romans 13:1-7).

Archbishop Onyeka Nzekwesi said the democratic dispensation in Nigeria instituted three tiers of Government, with the Federal Government as the most superior. He said in this regard, the state government must be submissive to the Federal Government; even as he commended Soludo for manifesting submissiveness to the Federal Government, and creating a conducive relationship to getting assistance from the Federal Government.

He also commended Governor Soludo for his diplomacy in organising the Traditional Rulers of Anambra who jointly conferred a chieftaincy on President Tinubu, a development, he said, amounted to giving Tinubu a Green Card to become an Anambra indigene, and thus making him to contribute to the development of Anambra State.

The Prelate also expressed optimism that the visit would yield fruitful dividends.

The occasion was also in solemnisation of the Matrimonial vows of one of his staff, Mr. Chukwudi Dick, and his bride Chidimma, at Jesus Is Alive Church, Eziowelle. Preaching the sermon, Archbishop Nzekwesi referred to the biblical injunction of St. Paul to the Ephesians that wives should be submissive to their husbands, respect and revere them as their lords, while the husbands should love their wives as their own bodies (Ephesians 5:22-33).

He said that with mutual love, reverence and respect, peace and tranquility would reign in their home, as well as prosperity and longevity.

Among those who graced the occasion were Dr. Mrs. Nzekwesili, wife of Arch Bishop Onyeka Nzekwesi, and many others.
