. . . Hosts SS Peter & Paul’s Parish Children at Christmas Fun Fair

An Awka Diocesan priest and the Parish Priest of SS Peter and Paul Parish, Nise, Awka South LGA, Anambra State, Rev. Fr. Bonaventure Nwankiti has said that ending a year on a good end brings forth good beginning for another year.
Fr. Nwankiti stated this while explaining the significance of ending any venture on a good note at the Christmas Fun Fair Party which he organized for the children of SS Peter and Paul Parish, Nise, on Monday, 23 December, 2019. He noted that anything that was brought to an end in a good and prefect manner creates room for another happy beginning. He said that the Christmas Fun Fair Party was to ensure that the children ended the year with remarkable memories for them to have a good start-up in 2020.
He maintained that the party was in celebration of Christ’s birth and was organized for the sake of the children for them to get together, to be happy and feel the impact which the commemoration of Christ’s birth comes with.
The Catholic clergy stated that the party was organized sequel to the inspiration he received to do things for the children to be happy and merry, saying that the root of children was the base of humanity. He disclosed that the orientation which was put together before the Christmas Fun Fair Party and the quiz were to enable the children have a comprehensive understanding of what Christmas was all about.
He expressed hope that the Christmas Fun Fair which was the first of its kind in the parish would become an annual event where children in the parish would be celebrated for their different accomplishments, both academically and otherwise, before the end of any given year.
He appreciated God for a beautiful 2019 which the parish had enjoyed and said that the beautiful ending in the parish was a projection of the great things that would happen in 2020.
Speaking to Fides, a mother to one of the children, Mrs. Eunice Maduka, thanked God for using the Parish Priest to bring the children together on a parish level to celebrate without charging any fees. She stated that celebration would help the children establish a common ground and project a sense of integration among them. She commended the innovative ideas which the parish priest had brought in the parish, saying that God’s love had been felt in the parish especially for blessing them with the presence of Fr. Bonaventure Nwankiti.
Some of the children who spoke to Fides, Chibugo Enwelu, described the Christmas Party as super fun, saying that the entertainment that was put in place made it different from the ones she had been attending while Ofuchukwu Agada said she liked the party because of the presence of Santa Claus and her little boy’s birthday that was in December.
Fides gathered that the Christmas Fun Fair which was held at SS Peter and Paul Church premises witnessed the attendance of over 200 children drawn from Nise Community and beyond who were adorned with Christmas colours of Red and white.
The arrival of Santa Claus with various gifts items distributed to the children at the Fun Fair Party climaxed the event as children shouted in various forms and manners in appreciation. Dance, special presentations, quiz on the birth of Jesus Christ, various songs by the Children were part of the highpoints of the celebration.
