A non-governmental organisation, Dr. Chioma Awuzie Foundation (DCAF), has offered scholarship to 17 indigent students in Anambra State.

The students were selected from public tertiary education institutions in the state, as a way to assist them and lessen the burden of high cost of education on their guardians.

The foundation also shared food items and other gifts, worth over N10 million to students and other indigent persons, as part of its 2024 Edition of scholarship award and charity initiative.

The Founder and Chairman, Board of Trustees of the foundation, Dr. Chioma Awuzie, during an event to present cheques to the awardees, disclosed that the foundation planned to expand the scholarship to a nationwide event soon.

‘DCAF has continued to champion enhanced access to higher education; healthcare delivery, via medical outreach; and community support; benefiting indigent students, pregnant women, widows, the needy, the elderly, inmates of correctional centers, youth, and women in our society.

‘Today, DCAF, in commemoration of my 51st Birthday Anniversary, has awarded one-off scholarships to 17 select indigent students from public tertiary education institutions in Anambra State.

‘Our mission is rooted in the belief that every individual, regardless of their background, deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to their community.

The Acting Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Dr. Uche Onyegbu, described the benefactor as God’s special gift to humanity, praying for divine health and providence upon her to keep impacting on lives.
