Former CWO Organizer, Awgbu Deanery, Siblings, Celebrate Parents on 50th Marriage Anniversary

The former Organizer, Catholic Women’s Organization (C.W.O), Awgbu Deanery, Lady Ngozi Sabina Ndigwe, and her six siblings, on Friday, 3rd January, 2020, celebrated their parents, Hon Chief Maurice & Mrs Patricia Nwankwo, on their 50 Years Marriage Anniversary.

According to the seven children of the golden couple, Lady Ngozi Ndigwe, Dr Christian Chidube Nwankwo, Engr Mrs Symphorosa Ebele Ogbuagu, Mr Maurice Chigozie Nwankwo, Mr Ikenna Nwankwo, Mrs Amaka Nwiru and Mr Val Chuu Nwankwo; the daughters’ in-law and the 21 grandchildren, their parents were their pride and role models not only to them, but to other couples. Speaking to Fides, the golden jubilee celebrants said the anniversary was in thanksgiving to God for his blessings and sustenance on them for the 50 years they had spent in marital life.

According to Hon Nwankwo, fondly known as Ichie Chibuko, who retired as school teacher from Bubendorff Memorial Grammar School, Adazi-Nnukwu in December 2000, they were grateful to God for the good life, good children and family of love he blessed them with.

For Mrs Nwankwo (Nee Imoka), fondly known as College Umuagbara, who also retired in education as an assistant chief master in December 2009, they were grateful to God for the gift . She prayed for God’s continuous grace and sustenance to them and the family.

Earlier, when he led in the concelebrated Golden Jubilee Thanksgiving Mass at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, MaryLand, Awgbu, Orumba North LGA, Anambra State, the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev Paulinus Ezeokafor, congratulated the celebrants who he described as role models of Christian marriage.

According to the bishop, it was a thing of joy that the golden couple had been able to cope with the demands of marriage for 50 years, and bore witness to the Christian marriage and Christian faith.
