Hello people!
This is a new edition of Fides kitchen! Meanwhile, welcome to the month of March. In this month, we will be learning something about snacks… I’m pretty sure you Fides kitchen lovers will enjoy this edition.
So, this week, I am going to teach you how to prepare one of my favorite snacks called PLANTAIN DORIS! (You like the name right?) It is my favorite because it’s not so common, and I bet you, you are going to enjoy every bite of it.
Let me introduce you to the ingredients
RECIPE
7 Ripe Plantains
75grm butter
1kg Flour
1 cup of sugar
1 tablespoon of
Baking powder
½ teaspoon of nutmeg
1 tin milk
3 eggs
A pinch of salt
1 teaspoon of vanilla flavor
Vegetable oil for frying
PROCEDURE
THE DOUGH:
Sieve your flour in a big bowl, mix all the dry ingredients together using your fingertips. Add your butter and mix still using your fingertips until your mixture looks like bread crumbs.
Now dig a well in the middle, pour all your wet ingredient into the bowl and mix until it forms a dough. Cover and allow to rest for 10mins and knead.
PLANTAIN
While waiting for the flour to rest, Peel and cut your plantains into your desired size for fry until its golden brown. And then set aside.
PLANTAIN DORIS
After you must have kneaded the dough, cut into small balls, place it on flat table, using your rolling pin, roll the dough into a thin flat size.
Get your plantain and place them on the dough, now roll the dough to cover the plantain then cut to desired sizes. (This is supposed to have the shape of a cylinder)
Placing your groundnut oil in a deep-frying pan on a medium heat, when hot, fry your dough until its golden brown.
