FIDES KITCHEN – COCONUT CANDY

So, we have come to the end of our snack series. And so, to end this series, I’m going to teach you how to make a very simple yet interesting and mouthwatering snack COCONUT CANDY.

RECIPE:

1 fresh coconut
200grm icing /powdered sugar
water

PROCEDURE:

Break the coconut, make sure to collect all the coconut juice from it and set aside. Remove the food from the shells and grate to small pieces (like salad).

Pour the coconut juice into a pot, add sugar and the stir. Add the grated coconut and stir. At this point, add water to the same level as the coconut pieces, cover and set to boil at high heat.

Once the content starts boiling, stir continuously till the water is almost evaporated. At this stage, reduce the heat and continue stirring, stir until the sugar caramelizes and the contents start sticking together. Keep stirring until the coconut pieces starts turning slightly brown.

Now, turn off the heat and scoop the very hot coconut candy onto a flat plate and leave to cool down. It should be sticky when cold.

Serve with hot chocolate or eat like that
