It’s Christmas season again, and I’m so excited because its that time of the year where you get to see all your loved ones again. It’s that season where you want to forget about getting fat and just celebrate the birth of Christ. Because here in Fides, we have the interest of everyone at heart, I am going to teach some healthy drinks which you can share with your loved ones you’ve not seen for a very long time. It means that even if you want to enjoy yourself, you can do that in a healthy way.
In this Christmas edition and I will be teaching you how to make a holiday inspired breakfast smoothie.
For me making your smoothies is one good way of enjoying your fruit and vegetable in one drink.
So, let me introduce you to the ingredients
INGREDIENTS
1 large banana
6 strawberries
1 cup water melon
1 red apple
½ cup of milk
Ginger
½ cup of unsweetened yogurt
PROCEDURE
In making a smoothie, you must start with your liquid base always. so, for this recipe, I’m going to be using our liquid milk since it’s breakfast inspired. Note that the quantity of liquid base you are to use is dependent on the fruit and the vegetable you are using. For this recipe, for example, we will be using water melon, and water melon contain about 95% water. It means that the liquid we are going to use will have to be reduced.
Pour the milk inside your blender, chop all your fruit into small pieces and throw them into your blender. The next step is adding your thickener to it, so your smoothie doesn’t get too watery. So, in this case, I’m going to be using unsweetened yogurt.
Next is the flavor: you can add any flavor of your choice as along as it is good for your taste bud. For my flavour, I’m going to use ginger (remember we want to keep it healthy)
Pour everything into the blender and then the final stage is blending all the fruits together.
And viola! Our breakfast inspired smoothie is ready……
