Fides trio of Mercy Hill, Precious Ukeje and Alexander Adejoh, have been rewarded by the Management of Fides Media Ltd as best reporters for the month of February 2020.
Making the fact known at the Fides’ News and Editorial Meeting held at Fidesplex on Monday, March 9, the Editor-in-Chief of Fides Newspaper, Mr Jude Atupulazi, said their story on ”Awka Shuns Sanitation Exercise”, which was published in the Fides Newspaper edition of February 2-8, 2020 edition, won them the reward.
The Editor-in-Chief congratulated the trio, noting that such news report indicated that they had eyes for news. He observed that any other person could have ignored such, but they considered it news worthy.
Presenting the cash reward to the winners, the Fides Director, Rev Fr Martin Anusi, commended them, noting that Fides Management would always reward outstanding reporters.
Speaking on behalf of the winners, Alexander Adejoh appreciated the Fides Management for the award, saying that he was grateful that their story won an award for a second time.
Adejoh extoled the Fides Editor-in-Chief for the professional touch which he gave to their stories and the mentoring he gave to the reporters
Corroborating Adejoh’s appreciation, Mercy Hill, thanked the Fides Editorial Team for the good grooming which she had enjoyed from Mr Atupulazi and other members of the team. She extolled the Fides Proofreader, Lady Ifeoma Nwadi, for her detailed proofreading of their stories.
