By Ifeoma Ezenyilimba

The Joint Christian Campus Fellowship (JCCF), Federal College of Education (Technical), Umunze, has honoured the provost of the College, Dr Tessy Okoli, with an Award of Excellence in Leadership.

Presenting the award to the provost when the Christian body paid a courtesy visit to her on July 10, 2019, the JCCF through its president, Daniel Ede, said it was in recognition of the provost’s unique leadership style, and contributions to the growth of FCE (T) Umunze as well as Dr Okoli’s service to humanity.

Ede described Dr Tessy Okoli’s emergence as the 4th substantive provost of the College as an answer to their prayers. According to him, ‘Okoli performed remarkably well during her tenure as a former Dean, Students Affairs of FCE (T) Umunze.

He noted that the transformation witnessed in the College within one year of Dr Okoli in office didn’t come as a surprise to them. Ede urged the Provost to continue her good works of being a mother to the College, this was even as he prayed for divine assistance upon her.

In her response, the Provost, Dr Okoli, commended the students for their devotion to God, and charged them to remain worthy ambassadors of Christ. She urged the Christian group not to relent in its discipleship of winning souls for Christ, so as to complement the College’s effort in curbing social vices and crime among the youths.

JCCF is an umbrella body of various fellowships in the College. Also present at the courtesy visit were the JCCF Vice President, Promise Alaebo and the staff advisers, Emeka Gospel Obiakor, Edith Udeze, Emmanuel Okechukwu and Caleb Ikechukwu Enyi, as well as some of the members.
