Father’s Day Celebration: CMO Shows Fatherly love to Bishops, Priests

Despite the COVID 19 Pandemic, the Catholic Men Organization didn’t fail to remember and show their solidarity and love to Fathers to commemorate the 2020 Fathers’ Day Celebration. The CMO visited Bishops Ezeokafor, Okpaleke, Okoye and other priests

The Catholic Men Organization led by the President, Vitus Uzoh, said that celebrating fathers was something they took seriously. He recalled how they celebrated Fathers’ Day last year and told Fides that the organization encourages oneness, peace, love, kindness and unity among themselves.

Receiving them at the St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most. Rev. Dr. Paulinus Ezeokafor, expressed joy over their thoughts to celebrate him. He thanked them for their efforts and impacts in the diocese and encouraged them to keep up the good work. He talked about the Peter University project and the growing need to work together for the growth and development of the University.

The Catholic Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese, Most. Rev. Peter Okpaleke on his part, thanked them for their solidarity and kindness. He told them to keep up with their faith and wished them well.

Also speaking, the Auxiliary Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most. Rev. Jonas Benson Okoye appreciated them for their concerns especially during this COVID 19 Pandemic. He also commended them for their accountability towards the Peter University Project, adding that the present CMO executives were more responsive and active in matters concerning the diocese.

When they visited the CMO Chaplain, Fr. Jerome Okafor, he welcomed them and encouraged them on how best to improve their leadership skills. While receiving their gift, he thanked them for their love towards him during the Fathering Sunday. He prayed for them and encouraged them not to relent in their activities.

The CMO executives also visited Fr Henry Uchechukwu Oduenyi, one of the beneficiaries of CMO, to celebrate Fathers’ Day with him. It should be recalled that Fr. Oduenyi was sponsored by CMO throughout his seminary days.

The CMO concluded their Fathers’ Day Celebration by visiting the Elderly Priests Home where they were welcomed by the Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Adolphus Obi. Fr. Obi expressed so much joy over the deliberate act of CMO coming to visit the elderly priests and giving them gifts. Giving his vote of thanks on behalf of other elderly priests, Fr. Raphael Oliobi, expressed gratitude and joy over their concern and kindness towards them.
