Dr Tessy Okoli to ELOVAS Foundation, Thank You for Promoting Women’s Betterment

The Provost, Federal College of Education (Technical), Umunze, Dr Tessy Okoli, has applauded an NGO known as Excellent Ladies of Valour and Steel (ELOVAS) Foundation International for championing a course for the betterment of the women.

Dr Okoli, who is also the National Secretary of Association of Women in Colleges of Education (WICE), gave the commendation at the 1st Annual General Meeting (AGM) / Convention & Seminar of ELOVAS Foundation International, held at Archbishop A.K. Obiefuna Retreat, Pastoral & Conference Centre, Okpuno, Awka South L.G.A, Anambra State, July 26 – 28, 2019.

According to the provost, who was the guest of honour at the event, ‘When women gather, things work for the better’. She thanked the Foundation led by the Founder / President, QueenLady Ngozi Ekwunife, for the importance it attached to the welfare of the women, saying that she felt satisfied being part of the group that promote the welfare of the women.
Okoli expressed her delight that the Foundation share the same vision which the WICE promote, especially, the education of the girl-child. She commended ELOVAS Foundation for the many charity outreaches it had recorded, and urged her to continue to touch lives positively through charity, saying that such goodwill would surely attract divine reward.

The provost advised the members not to in any form, pull the Foundation down, but they should instead, support each other for her growth, saying that noble vision and objectives of groups such as ELOVAS Foundation, were for the betterment of humanity and society. This was even as she solicited for supports from all towards the actualization of the Foundation’s noble projects.

On his part, the Chairman of Anambra State Primary Health Board, Professor Josephat Ogbuagu, mni, who was the chairman of the occasion, affirmed that women play special roles in human and societal development. He extolled the women for the leading roles they play in education, especially in the colleges of education and the polytechnics, which currently have more of women as provosts.
