…As He Vows to Empower Ordinary People if Elected
By Emeka Odogwu
President General, Dennis Memorial Grammar School (DMGS), Old Boys Association, (DOBA Ww)
Onitsha in Anambra State, Dr Sunny Chuba Nwachukwu and the
Dennis Memorial Grammar School (DMGS), Onitsha, Principal, Ven Chigozie Anieto have prayed for Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, wishing him a resounding success in the coming November 8, 2025 Guber election at the polls with a hitch free period of electioneering campaigns.
They said: “The prayer, support and backing of this global alumni body is for you to emerge victorious.
The duo further requested that Prince Ukachukwu should impact on Dengramites as they mark a centenary year by sponsoring the coming 26th and 27th July, 2025 DOBA Convention.
They urged him to give sacrificially towards any of the projects needed in his alma mater to enhance the learning environment, secure the future and ensure that DMGS continues to be a beacon of academic and moral excellence for generations to come.
Speaking earlier, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship candidate in the November 8 election in Anambra State, Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu, vowed to empower the ordinary people of Anambra State so as to pull them out of hunger, poverty and lack.
Ukachukwu who made the promise during his homecoming to his Alma mater, the Dennis Memorial Grammar School (DMGS), Onitsha in Anambra State said some criminals like kidnappers and armed robbers were not into the crime because they want to, but because they chose wrongly out of frustration.
Speaking at the event organized by DMGS Old Boys Association Worldwide (DOBA Ww) at C. J Peterson Auditorium, All Saints Cathedral Onitsha shortly after the tour of the school, Prince Ukachukwu sought for his school mates’ support in his governorship campaigns, stating emphatically that: “It is the turn of a Dengramite to be the nextcGovernor of Anambra State”.
He said DMGS has produced many great, talented, intelligent and resourceful men who have carved niche for themselves in various fields of endeavor, saying that as Dengramite he would bring meaningful development in various sectors of the state to make Anambra regain its status as the light of the nation when he becomes the Governor.
“DMGS is a place where people of substance, people of great immense value graduated from. Anyone that passed through DMGS can solve any problem.
My people are happy because this time around we are the one that is taking Anambra State to the centre where every other thing can be reconnected” he said.
Continuing Ukachukwu said: “Nigeria is not running a state economy but federal economy. When security from the Federal is deployed to a state government but you cannot make use of them it is an issue. Our President has moved enough security and money to Anambra State but the government of Anambra State is not managing them well.
Now, Anambra State is going to be a part and parcel of the Federal Republic under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We will manage the resources from up down to us very well and the one we generate here will be properly managed and in the next few months Anambra will be where it is supposed to be as the Light of the nation”.
He said that the people were celebrating because they know that Anambra State would be far better in the hands of APC, in the hands of a Dengramite than any other hand.
“Security is paramount in a state, providing enablers is very important to make business and industries to work. If you start business without those enablers they will die.It is like planting a crop in a concrete floor, you have already decided that the plant will die. You need to till the soil, manure it before planting to ensure a bumper harvest” said Ukachukwu.
He continued: “We are good traders in Anambra but we can grow into having industries that produce what we sell. When we were growing up at DMGS, we had companies like GMO, etc but now many factories are under lock and key, glorified warehouses, we need to rise up and fix Anambra once again”.
There was an atmosphere of nostalgia as Prince Ukachukwu (Ikukuoma Ndigbo) as he fondly called by his admirers went round his alma mater,DMGS, in company of his school mates recalling experiences of their secondary school days.
