The Bishop on the Niger, Anglican Communion, Anambra State, the Rt Rev Dr Owen Nwokolo, has announced plans to take members of the diocese on Pilgrimage to Jerusalem this 2025.

But there is a caveat as, Bishop Nwokolo assured that the diocese would like to give opportunity to anyone who would show interest and “can equally afford it”.

Bishop Nwokolo announced this during the collation of archdeacons and canons at the All Saints’ Cathedral, Onitsha.

According to him, “It is desirable and naturally expected that every christian, should, at least, once in one’s life time, set one’s foot on Jerusalem, Israel, and walk where our Lord Jesus Christ walked.

“The trip will also afford you the opportunity to see the things written in the Bible in vivid form.

“It is therefore expected you do that, we know it is not easy, especially with the economic situation in the country, However, we want to give the opportunity to anyone who can afford it.

“The diocese will want to give people who want to go on the pilgrimage the opportunity to have the experience. All things being equal, we are at present, crossing the to and dotting the is so that by September this year, God willing, the plan will come to fruition”, the bishop hinted.

He remarked that the forms to that effect would begin to be issued in a few weeks time, adding that the parishioners would be properly informed through their archdeacons in due course.
