The Management of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Anambra State, says it has been alerted to a viral video depicting an inappropriate act involving one of the University’s security officers and a young woman at the University’s 2nd Gate on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
A statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, COOU, Dr. Harrison Madubueze, said, ‘As a reputable institution committed to upholding high ethical standards, COOU strongly condemns this act. Immediate steps have been initiated to ensure that the security officer in question faces appropriate disciplinary action in line with the institution’s policies.
‘We wish to clarify that contrary to reports circulating on social media, the girl involved in the incident is not a student of COOU. She is a casual worker employed in one of the business ventures operating within the University premises. The Management has spoken with the young woman and documented her account of the events leading to this unfortunate incident.
‘The University remains resolute in maintaining a safe and respectful environment for everyone within its community.’
