It was a fulfilling moment for Evaristus Chidubem and Maureen Chidiogo as the duo walked down the aisle on Saturday, August 17, 2024, to express their marital vows through the solemnization of the Sacrament of Matrimony at St. Michael’s Parish, Eziaja Village in Neni, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Witnessed by priests, family, friends and well-wishers, the two expressed their marital vows and love to the Church and the world. The Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Dr. Hillary Ekwenibe, together with other concelebrants.
The homilist, Rev. Fr Donatus Onyeaňusi, remarked the two key areas of successful marriage to the young couple, which, according to him, were love and respect. Fr Onyeaňusi added that part of the woman’s responsibility in the home was to always respect the man; this was even as he charged the man to keep loving the woman unfailingly. The homilist spoke on the need for the congregation to always know that marriage went beyond a union but a Sacrament that bound couples together.

The marriage ceremony which was agog with a plethora of activities, had exchange of consent and rings; the presentation of Papal blessings from the Holy Father, Pope Francis, to the young couple, Mr. Evaristus Chidubem and Mrs. Maureen Chidiogo Orah, by Rev. Fr Johnmark Okafor; group photographs; presentations and cutting of cake, as some of its major highlights.
