As a way of thanking God for gifting him with the fruit of the womb, (twin babies, both boys), which has eluded him for years now and also for appreciating the executive members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for their steadfastness, the former National Auditor of the party, Sir Paul Chukwuma, on Saturday, 16th December, shared over 800 bags of rice, as well as cash gifts to all the local government areas and the state executives of the party.
Distributing the largesse in Awka in the presence of some of the party’s stakeholders, including the Nigerian Ambassador to Burundi, His Excellency, Amb. Elijah Onyeagba, and three-time member of House of Representatives, Hon Lynda Ikpeazu, Sir Chukwuma said apart from the Christmas palliatives, he would also mount APC billboards in all the 21 local government areas of the state to project the activities of the party ahead of the Governorship Election.
He said he was offering the services as part of his contribution to promote the party and to ensure that Anambra was fully connected to the centre through the APC channel, adding that it was the most populous political party in Africa.
He equally called on the members to recognize Senator Andy Uba as the leader of the party in the state.
Earlier in a remark, the Deputy National Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nze Chidi Duru, noted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had approved a blueprint geared towards capturing the state in the next gubernatorial election.
According to him, the winning plan was disclosed by the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, during a stakeholders’ meeting he held with leaders of the party from Anambra State in Abuja, recently.
Nze Duru enjoined the executive members of the party to commence as soon as possible, ward mobilizations, saying that it would go a long way in granting the party victory in the state.
He announced that the National Chairman of the party would be visiting Anambra State by January, 2024 to interface with all party supporters, including aggrieved members, as part of the preparation for the gubernatorial election.
While commending Chukwuma for the kind gesture, the Organising Secretary, who also represented the National Chairman at the event, called on the party faithful to make unity of purpose their watchword,
