The member representing Idemili North State Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon Ifeanyi Arthur Chiekwu (Ugonnabo Umuoji) recently at his country home distributed lots of food items and cash to his constituents as a way of cushioning the effects and challenges of COVID-19 pandemic on them.
Items distributed included cartoons of noodles, hand sanitizers, soaps, bags of Rice, beverages, Toiletries, etc.
Presenting the items worth millions of Naira to the beneficiaries, the lawmaker charged his Constituents to stay safe from the COVID-19 pandemic by maintaining social distancing, staying away from crowded environment, practicing regular hand washing and also avoid shaking of hands and hugging.
Hon. Chiekwu who is the Chairman, House Committee on Lands Survey and Physical Planning Board urged his constituents who thronged his residence to keep to the precautionary measures laid down by state, Federal and World Health Organization (WHO), saying that with that, they would be safe from contracting the disease which, he said, was ravaging the world at the moment.
Hon Chiekwu popularly called Money Man by his numerous admirers and supporters commended Gov Willie Obiano led administration for the prompt measures taken by enlightening Ndi Anambra through the radio and TV stations, and for setting up Isolation and surge centers across the State.
Some of the stakeholders who were present at the ocassion included Wards Chairmen, Councillors in Idemili North LGA, the Special Adviser to Gov Willie Obiano on Chieftaincy and Local Government Affairs, Hon Barr Mrs VeraQueen Okonkwo, the APGA Chairman Idemili North Local Government, Chief Kentus Onwurah, the Special Assistant to the Governor Willie Obiano on Political Matters, Hon Arinze Okafor, among others
One of the beneficiaries, Ifeanyi Charles Okolo poured encomiums on the lawmaker for reaching to his constituents, especially at this trying time. He described him as compassionate and generous lawmaker.
Wards Chairmen, LGA party executives and other major stakeholders from Idemili North took turns to shower praises on Hon Chiekwu, even as they expressed satisfaction with his performance so far at the state and of Assembly.
