Anambra Transport Ministry Commences Enforcement of State Colour on Commercial Buses

By Sunny A. Ijomah

Anambra State Ministry of Transport has commenced the enforcement of Anambra colour on commercial buses.

The exercise which kicked off in Onitsha will be a continuous process.

Speaking during the exercise, the Commissioner for Transport, Dr. Christian Mmadubuko said that the enforcement of Anambra colour is only for Intra States commercial buses plying various routes across the State.

The Commissioner further noted that transporters have been given enough time to comply with the directive for easy identification, as well as ensure that commercial buses are not used for criminal activities in Anambra State.

Dr. Mmadubuko noted that the Ministry will continue to sanitize the Transport sector in line with international best practices which is the desire of the Obiano administration.

He equally warned those displaying their goods along service lanes in Onitsha to stop forthwith, as offenders will not be spared when arrested.

The Commissioner had earlier inspected a proposed motor park at Ugwunwasike, along old Onitsha-Enugu Express Road, to ease the traffic congestion that always occur at the area.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Transport, Mr. Sam Odinye advised transporters, who are yet to paint their vehicles with Anambra colour to do so immediately.
