A book titled, “Dynamism in Administrative Leadership and human Capital Development: a festschrift in honour of Professor Eugene Okoye Nwadialor”, has been launched and presented to the public.
Professor Nwadialor is the Vice Chancellor of Tansian University Umunya, and the 311-paged and 21-chaptered book in his honour was edited by six lecturers – E.J.O. Ndubuisi; A. Kanu; A. Ngonadi; L.S. Edeh; E. Okorie and D.N. Umeoduagu.
In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the occasion, Engr Chris Nwajioke, noted that the event was to honour a luminary, whose intellectual brilliance and academic excellence had made indelible marks in society.
Speaking on behalf of the six editors that worked on the book, Professor E.J.O. Ndubisi explained that the book was crafted to ensure that the honoree lived on; capturing and preserving the qualities that made him an extraordinary leader, such as unwavering commitment to excellence, dedication to the development of human potential, and visionary approach to Educational administration.
Reviewing the book, Professor Meshack Ifurueze of the Department of Accounting, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam, recommended it to all at different levels of management, school administrators, researchers and academia, describing it as a leadership encyclopedia.
Speaking after launching the book, the special guest of honour – the Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sir Chukwuma Okoye; the Majority Leader of the Anambra State House of Assembly and member representing Ekwusigo Constituency, Hon Ikenna Ofodeme; Acting Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Dr Eugene Ubaka, represented by the Deputy Rector, Academics, Dr Uche Onuegbu; and the President General of Ichi Development Union, Chief Damian Atuigwe, described the honoree as one who had continued to impact society positively, and urged those in leadership positions to emulate him.
On behalf of Academic staff of the university, the Head of Department of Microbiology and former member of the Anambra State House of Assembly that represented Aguata One Constituency, Assoc. Prof Cater Dike Nnamdi Umeoduagu, described Professor Nwadialor as one who had given selflessly to academics and society at large, and in reciprocity now receiving back from society.
The Registrar of the University, Rev. Daniel Igwilo, together with the Bursar, Sir Valentine Ikeanyionwu, was not left behind. They extolled highly the virtues of Prof Eugene Nwadialor.
In a vote of thanks, the honoree, Professor Eugene Okoye Nwadialor, the Vice Chancellor of Tansian University Umunya, thanked all that graced the occasion and promised continuous contributions to societal development.
Unveiling and launch of the book led by Chief Dr Emma Ejiofor, and presentation of awards to Nwadialor, formed the highpoints of the event.
