. . . Kicks Off Fr Sab Anokwulu Silver Jubilee End of Year Tennis Tournament

Bishop Peter Okpaleke on Thursday, October 31, 2019, officially blessed and opened the multi-million Naira Masdevan Twin Tennis Complex Urum, Anambra State for public use. The building of the facility was facilitated by Rev Fr Sebastine Anokwulu, whose Priestly Silver Jubilee Celebration end of year Tennis tournament was equally kicked off by the Bishop. Draws for the Priests’ tourney was anchored by Tennis Captain, Rev Fr John Paul Chukwuelobe.
Addressing the gathering of tennis lovers that gathered for the ceremony, Bishop Okpaleke appreciated the Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev Paulinus Ezeokafor, who he was representing at the occasion, for leading the Faithful of his Diocese in integral human formation. He praised Fr Anokwulu for always being at the forefront of breaking new grounds in his apostolate, be it in agriculture, pastoral care, ecumenism and sports.
The Chairman of Awka Diocesan Priests Fraternity and DOSAD Priests Tennis Players, Rev Fr Peter Val Uzoezie in his speech, celebrated Fr Anokwulu for his ingenuity in priestly fraternity. “Sabaukpo, you always think of ways of making priests happy in their apostolate. We rejoice with you for marking your priestly anniversary with this gigantic project. On top of that you are sponsoring Tennis Tournament for priests. God bless you. We are happy with you” Fr Uzoezie said.
In his speech, the builder, convener, celebrant and host, Fr Anokwulu thanked the Diocesan Priests family for always identifying with him. He thanked the Lay Faithful many of who were his friends for supporting his ministry. He assured the Lay Faithful that their own tournament would kick off December 12, at the closing ceremony of Priests tournament.
Speaking to the Press, the Director of Sports Awka Diocese, Rev Fr Obinna Dike eulogized Fr Anokwulu for advancing the course of the Directorate of Sports Awka Diocese (DOSAD). He praised Fr Sab’s approachability and humanness. He wished him well on his priestly anniversary. A lot of dignitaries graced the ceremony.
