The Anglican Bishop of Nnewi Diocese. Rt. Rev. Ndubuisi Obi, has decried the increasing sexual immorality and pervasion in the society which he warned could attract the wrath of God on the people.
The Bishop was preaching at the one-day crusade organized by the Bridgehead Central Market Evangelism Group held at the market Wednesday.
Bishop Obi said that sexual immorality was capable of denying people of their destiny as was the case of Rueben , whose first sonship was denied him because he slept with his father’s wife.
He said this was contrary to Joseph who disciplined himself in the face of strong temptation from the wife of Potipher, his master.
The Bishop said a lot of people indulge in several forms of sexual immorality, including masturbation, fornication, adultery, lesbianism, homosexuality among others, lamenting that technology like phones and internet, have Increaseed sexual immorality in the society.
Bishop Obi said sexual immorality leads to retrogrossion and destruction of one’s destiny in life. urging the people to run away from the sin that led to the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.
He stressed the need for christians to live righteous, saying that events in the world currently are clear indication that there is no time remaining again for people to live carelessly.
Bishop Obi said the tension in the Middle East which has the potential of the world powers deploying nuclear weapons showed that everybody on this planet is in danger.
The chairman of Anambra State Market Evangelism Committee who doubles as the chairman of the. Bridgehead Central Market Evangelism Committee, Brother Analike Sylvanus lauded Governor Chukwuma Soludo, the Special Adviser on Market to the Governor. He also thanked the Catholic Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev. Dr.. Valerian Okeke, the Anglican Bishop of Amichi, Bishop Ephraim Ikeakor, Bishop Okpara Ihedi representing Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria , who are the trustees of the prayer group and the guest preacher , Bishop Obi.
He said the programne was huge success, stating that the most important thing is for the word of God to be declared and it is left for people to hear and live it out in their lives.
The high point was the inauguration of Soludo Solution Group (SSG) by the chairman, Chinedu Nwoye, who is the Governor ‘ s Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief Protocol.
