To better the quality of health delivery for the people in Adazi Nnukwu and environs, the Management and Board of St. Joseph’s Specialist Hospital, Adazi Nnukwu, has moved a notch to equip the hospital with latest medical facilities and created new medical units in the hospital.

The blessing of the facilities which was done by the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Awk, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, was greeted with joy amidst hope that with the facilities, better health delivery would be achieved.

The Bishop, in his remarks, appreciated the hospital’s Administrative Director, Rev. Fr Kenneth Okafor, and the entire members of staff, for being committed in ensuring that the facilities were best put to use for the purpose they were meant for.

Some of the facilities that received blessings from the Bishop included: Eye Clinic facilities, Dental Laboratory Clinic, Ultra Sound and ECG, x-Ray, main theatre, casket boutique, Intensive Care Unit among others

Fr Okafor, while speaking with Fides, noted that the need for the new facilities, resource equipment and units needed in health care, was to continue to gain the confidence of the people, as it concerned their health care.

The Hospital Administrator, who noted that this was a long term objective that had been achieved, said that some of the facilities bought were not seen in many hospitals and that they had upgraded most of their facilities to the latest versions so as to give the best health care to the community.

He also spoke on the digital x-ray, the renovation of the mortuary and theatre, noting that they were aimed at helping to maintain standards, especially since the hospital was aiming to be one of the very best, not just in Anambra, but in Nigeria.

For his part, the Chancellor of the Diocese, Rev. Fr Charles Ndubisi, thanked the Management of the hospital over what he called an expensive investment in the purchase of the new health equipment to aid doctors and nurses in better health service delivery to the people.

The Chancellor also thanked the Management of the Hospital, particularly, for the installation of more solar panels to boost power generation in the hospital.

He prayed that the facilities would be used in healing all who came to the hospital.

The blessing of the facilities by the Bishop attracted the presence of priests and religious, members of staff from the hospital and the President General of Adazi Nnukwu.
