Bishop Amah Urges Christians to Remain Firm in Faith

The Anglican Bishop of Ogbaru Diocese, Right Reverend Prosper Amah, has cautioned Christians against taking God for granted.

In a sermon at the Bethel Anglican Church, Iyiowa Odekpe, Odekpe Archdeaconry during a service of Confirmation and Admission into Mothers Union; Girls’ Guild; Christian Men’s fellowship and Anglican Boys fellowship, Bishop Amah tasked the faithful to focus on God, lean on Him and not on the world.

He urged Christians to be steadfast in their service to God, advising them not to be discouraged in the current situation of the country and negative things that are happening in the social media platforms, saying that time shall come when those who mock God will come to realize the wrong choice they had made.

Right Reverend Amah emphasized that praying for the devil to die is not a valid prayer, as the devil is a spirit and spirits do not die, urging believers to focus on learning and praying the correct prayers consistently.

Anglican Bishop Prosper Amah of Ogbaru Diocese, encouraged Christians to be deliberate in obeying God’s Commandments in order to receive blessings.

He cautioned Christians against working for God, without knowing Jesus Christ, warning them to repent and turn away from wickedness, malice, slander, envy among others, which according to him are those things that are causing set back in the heavenly race of any Christian faithful.

The Vicar of the Church, Reverend Canon Jasper Ezike, who thanked the Bishop for the visit, charged those that were admitted into various groups during the service to always maintain their dignity as the light and salt of the earth in order to continue to win more souls for Christ.

The President of the Women’s Ministry in Ogbaru Diocese, Dr Uche Amah, some Diocesan officials and uniformed organizations attended the service which also featured a special anthem by the choir and series of prayers for those in leadership positions, the church, Anambra State and the Nigerian nation in distress.
