By Abuchi Onwumelu

The Chief Whip of Anambra State House of Assembly and member representing Dunukofia State Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Chief Lawrence Chukwunweike Ezeudu (Cheleku), says that whatever decision he takes as a lawmaker is for the interest of Dunukofia State Constituency.

Hon Ezeudu who stated this during a Dunukofia Stakeholders’ meeting held at the council headquarters, Ukpo, called for one indivisible APGA in the area, even as he enjoined members to avoid negative tales that could cause disaffection among members.

Ezeudu appreciated the Transition Committee chairman of Dunukofia Local Government Area, Hon. Engr. Emeka Okonkwo, and his team, for their resolve and steadfastness. Ezeudu charged APGA faithful in the council area to redouble efforts in mobilizing and ensuring that they delivered their various polling units and wards to the party in future elections.

He appealed to Dunukofia stakeholders to make the meeting a regular one, saying that it would help in addressing issues as they affected the people of Dunukofia. The lawmaker promised to host the next stakeholders meeting.

He debunked rumours that he had issues with the Transition Committee Chairman of the Local Government, stating that they only had their differences. He pledged his continued support for APGA as a party as well as the leadership of the council’s chairman.

Hon. Ezeudu while addressing the gathering, enjoined the stakeholders to continue to support the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Governor Willie Obiano, Hon. Okonkwo and himself, urging all to continue to pray for him, the Governor and the Transition Committee chairman of the Local Government.

Speaking during the meeting, the Transition Committee Chairman of Dunukofia Council Area, Engineer Emeka Okonkwo, said with the steady provision of democracy dividends by the Obiano administration, winning future elections in the state would be seamless for the party.
Engineer Okonkwo, who reeled out some of his projects and interventions in the area, said they were in line with Governor Willie Obiano’s determination to entrench APGA at the grassroots through people-oriented projects.

Describing Dunukofia as the pillar of APGA in the state, the party Chairman in the Council, Mr. Vincent Ezennia, commended members for their steadfastness in winning elections for APGA, describing it as a product of team spirit which must be upheld.

Proffering solutions on ways of moving the party forward in the area, some party stakeholders, including Sir Solomon Eziachala, Chief Cyprian Afunugo, Honourable Sylvanus Igbokwe and Barrister Chike Maduekwe, among others, called on political appointees from the area to champion the cause of promoting the party in the area.

The stakeholders meeting attracted the presence of political appointees from the area, including the Commissioner for Women’s Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue.
