The parishioners of the Anglican Diocese of Nsukka, yet again rejoiced as six new parishes were officially inaugurated by the visionary and missionary bishop, The Rt. Rev. A. E. Agbo (JP).
The Parishes were Holy Trinity Parish, Amachalla; Emmanuel Parish Ishiobere Amufie and Emmanuel Parish Onitcha Enugu, all at Enugu Ezike in Igbo Eze North Local Government Area, Enugu State were inaugurated on Sunday, 9th March, 2025.
St. Peter’s Church Iggah, Emmanuel Parish Nimbo both at Uzo Uwani Local Government Area and Emmanuel Parish Edem Nru in Nsukka Local Government Area, Enugu State were inaugurated recently, the 13th day of March, 2025.
The events witnessed some highly spiritually inspired and soul nourishing sermons by some seasoned servants of God and senior clerics of the Diocese. The Bishop himself preached at Holy Trinity Parish Amachalla, Ven. Pharm. Dr. Samson Emeka Ezea preached at Emmanuel Parish, Ishiobere Amufie, Ven. Dr. Moses Omeke preached at Emmanuel Parish Onitcha Enugu and St. Peter’s Church Iggah, Ven. Takuso Eze preached at Emmanuel Parish, Nimbo and Ven. Dr. Godwin Emeka Eze, The Cathedral Sub Dean preached at Emmanuel Parish Edem -Nru.
The sermon at various venues preached had a pointer on the need to arise and build the church. It is the heart beat of God that Christians should stand firm with boldness to preach and to live christ in this morally decaying generation.
The Bishop has on his own, always emphasised that the creation of the parishes is purely born out of the need to evangelize every nuke and cranny of the diocese.
The parishioners and pioneer parish priests are therefore expected to take evangelism as their primary responsibility in running the new parishes.
Present in the event are men and women from all walks of life including representatives of Council of Knights ably led by the vice president, Sir. Dr. Clement Ugwuja.
