The Anambra State Police Command, Wednesday, joined the rest of the service delivery agencies in celebrating the 2025 Customer Service Week, with the theme, “Igniting the spirit of service”.

The celebration, which is held annually in the first week of October, provides an opportunity for the Command to appreciate the cooperation and support of the people of Anambra State for their partnership in promoting safety and peace across the state, a press statement by the Command’s image maker in the state, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed.

Ikenga said as part of the celebration, Divisional Police Officers, Area Commanders, and Heads of Tactical Units engaged their host communities via open-door interactions, stepping up alternative dispute resolution strategies in addressing some complaints in their stations.

‘They engaged them in security awareness sensitization, walks, offering gifts to the public, as well as engaging in sanitation service within their area to promote mutual trust and collaboration.

‘The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, in his goodwill message, reaffirmed that the safety and security of Ndi Anambra remains the Command’s top priority. He emphasized that the Police are not only law enforcers but also public servants whose duty is to protect life and property with empathy, fairness and professionalism.

‘The CP urged officers and men of the Command to use the Week to reflect on their security service delivery and to strengthen their relationship with members of the public. He also encouraged them to continue to uphold discipline, courtesy and accountability in all interactions with the public.

‘Happy Customer Service Week, Ndi Anambra, your cooperation is not taken for granted,’ Ikenga signed off in the statement.
