Anambra State government has been rated high in health intervention services for the people.
It received the commendation when a delegation from the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, paid a visit to Governor Willie Obiano at the Government House Awka after their inspection of all Primary Health Centers across the State.
Our correspondent reports that the visit by the team was to monitor situation of things at the health centers and to ascertain if resources are properly managed towards ensuring the actualization of the vision of the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration in universal healthcare.
Speaking at the event the leader of the delegation and the Executive
Director National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Faisal Shuaib expressed satisfaction with the quality service delivery at the State’s Health Centers.
He commended the Obiano administration for renovating and equipping sixty-three health centers in the state, asking that such gesture be replicated in the remaining ones for more improved health services for Ndi Anambra.
Dr. Shuaib also rated Anambra high amongst States in routine immunization throughout the federation, and encouraged Anambra State Government to put in more effort in funding the health sector.
In a remark, the National Chairman, Forum of Executive Secretaries, Dr. Usman-Adis Mohammed, who pointed out that Primary Healthcare remains the priority of President Buhari, called on health workers in the State and Nigeria at large, to always put in their best to ensure that the people are provided with quality health services.
Responding, Governor Obiano represented by his Deputy, Dr. Nkem Okeke appreciated the Federal Government for its various health interventions in the state, and restated the commitment of his administration to maintaining the lead in health services in the
country.
The Governor appealed for more support of the Federal Government in Health care delivery promising to always play his part by ensuring the timely payment of the state’s counterpart funding.
