The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP John Abang, has warned members of the Anambra State Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC, to be vanguards of crime free communities by shunning all forms of crime.
CP Abang spoke at Uga, Aguata Council Area, while inaugurating the Aguata Area Command of the Police Community Relations Committee, led by Chief Akanyeonu John at the Aguata Area Command, Uga. He encouraged them to live up to expectation always as the police under his watch would give the PCRC all the necessary cooperation it deserved to perform.
Acting Area Commander of Aguata Area Command, CSP Emeka Onuoha, who spoke at the event, decried that some of the divisional PCRC’s are not living up to expectations but reassured the PCRC state chairman, Chief Ike Ezenwankwo, and the Aguata Area Command PCRC chairman, Chief John Akanyeonu, and their members of a better relationship to enable them to perform.
CSP Onuoha enjoined them to relate any of the challenges with police, especially the DPOs, in the command to him to resolve as the police in Anambra desired peace and security of life and property.
In his speech earlier, the chairman, Anambra State PCRC, Chief Ik Ezenwankwo, cautioned the Uga Area Command members of PCRC on the sanctity of human life, hence the need for them to uphold the truth always in the cause of their duties to avoid shedding of innocent blood.
Chief Ezenwankwo reiterated that the PCRC was a place to serve the community and the Nigerian police and not a place to embezzle public funds. He warned that anyone who indulged in embezzling public funds or caught dealing in anything crime and illegal would be dismissed.
He encouraged them to fish for quality individuals to join and carry other members along to avoid miscarriage of leadership, charged them to respect mankind as the CP John Abang placed much values on respect to human life and discipline.
In his remarks, the Aguata Area Command PCRC chairman, Chief John Akanyeonu, assured that all members of the PCRC Aguata Area Command would be carried along. He called for the cooperation of everyone to succeed and assured that the Command’s PCRC would be the best in the state with the cooperation of everyone.
In an interview, the Legal Adviser 1 of the Aguata Area Command of the PCRC, Hon Akam Moses Emenike Nnanyelugo, a lay reader in the Anglican Communion, reassured that the members of the PCRC were men of integrity, wealth and intellectual standing, capable of upholding the truth and telling truth to power at all times in respect to the demands of their calling.
Earlier an election was conducted by a committee on Aguata Area Command election planning committee led by Comrade Eze Emmanuel, who is also Divisional chairman of Anaocha PCRC division, where he declared Chief John Akanyeonu as chairman, Aguata Area Command after Mr Anthony Anaebo stepped down for him.
The elected officers were later sworn in by the Officer in Charge of Legal, Aguata Area Command, SP Ayeni Caesar, who administered to them the oath of office.
Others elected to serve Agauta Area Command of PCRC were Comrade Chudi Ekenta as Vice President; Hon Chief Isaac Okpala as Secretary; Iloh Chuka as Assistant Secretary; Deacon Ezechukwu P as Treasurer; Uzoenu Josephat as Financial Secretary, and Engr Ezeobi Titus as Organizing Secretary.
Others were Hon Okafor Uche as Publicity Secretary; Gilbert Olumba as PRO; Hon Akam Moses Emenike Nnanyelugo as Legal Adviser 1, Bar Muneke Kanayo as legal Adviser 2; Pius Onyeanunu as Ex-Officio 1; Mr Emenike Ikechukwu as Ex-Officio 2 and Onyeka John as Ex-Officio 3.
