By Mmaduabuchi Onwumelu

The Anambra State House of Assembly recently, at the State House of Assembly, confirmed Sir Stanley Nkwoka and 20 others, including a woman, as new transition committee chairmen.

Sir Nkwoka will take charge of Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State as the Transition Committee Chairman.

The transition committees are to manage the administration of local government areas for three months in the first instance.

The lawmakers confirmed all the nominees at a Plenary Session on Thursday, 20th June 2024, after the nominees were screened by the relevant committees of the assembly.

Gov. Chukwuma Soludo sent their names to the House of Assembly for consideration on Wednesday, 19th June, 2024. The only woman among the chairmen is Mrs Amaka Obi, for Idemili South LGA.

Meanwhile, the newly confirmed Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili North Local Government of Anambra State, Sir Stanley Nkwoka, on Friday, 21st June, attended the funeral of the late Nollywood icon, Chief Amaechi Muonagor, in his hometown, Obosi.

Condoling the bereaved family, Sir Nkwoka described the deceased as a great, seasoned, talented and humorous actor who graced the screen with panache and finesse, saying that the late thespian would be sorely missed in the movie industry, even as he acknowledged that he (Amaechi) made a name for himself and enjoined the family to take solace in the fact that the deceased was able to create and define his path.

The council boss who prayed for the quick repose of Muonagor’s soul, asked God to give the family the grace to bear what he described as an irreparable loss.
