The Management of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), formerly Anambra State University, has warned prospective students to be wary of admission racketeers and fraudsters.
In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the institution, Chukwueloka C.C., PhD, and made available to Fides, the Management frowned at what it described as criminal acts against unsuspecting students trying to secure admission into the University.
The statement read in part, ‘It has come to the knowledge of the Management of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, some of the various ways through which fraudsters dupe candidates who apply for admission into the University by asking them to pay money to check the results of the screening test.
‘The University Management wishes by this message to inform the general public that it has not given admission to anybody in any way. The admissions will be released when ready but for now, none has been released.
‘You are therefore advised not to allow anyone to defraud you of your hard earned money. Be properly guided,’ the statement read.
