Vote buying; inducement; thuggery actions in Nri, Anaocha LGA; shooting, resulting in the killing of a Councillor in Owerre-Ezukala, in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State, and other forms electoral offences, allegedly trailed the just concluded Governorship Election in Anambra State, even as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Professor Chukwuma Soludo, the winner of the election.
Prof. Chukwuma Soludo of APGA polled 422,664 votes to defeat his closest rival, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 99,445.
Governor Soludo won his re-election with a landslide victory, securing 72% of the votes and winning all 21 local government areas,

The election, held in 5,718 polling units, saw APGA consolidate on its dominance as Soludo swept major strongholds and outpaced other contenders in both rural and urban centres.
Ukachukwu emerged as Soludo’s nearest challenger, finishing second after polling significant votes but falling short of the numbers required to unseat the incumbent.
