The Leadership of the Anambra State Town Unions Council, ASTUC, has congratulated the Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo over his victory at the polls last Saturday.
A press release by the Chairman, Chief Sir Vin Dike, and his Secretary, Dr. Patrick Okafor, which was made available to Fides, assured the Governor that the council would work with him in his second tenure to ensure cordial relationship with communities.
The release read: “On behalf of Presidents-General of the 179 communities in Anambra State, we congratulate Your Excellency and your Deputy, Dr. Onyekachi Ibezim, on your resounding victory under APGA in the just concluded Governorship Election.
“The fact that you won in 320 wards out of 326 is a crystal-clear indication that the good people of Anambra State have resolved to move forward forever and an almost unanimous proclamation of their trust and confidence in your leadership.
“Your Excellency, your campaign aptly articulated a commendable and virile vision for Anambra State, as well the transformational roadmap for achieving it. Please, be assured that ASTUC is willing, ready and on standby to support you in the translation of your vision to actionable objectives and activities and on the implementation of such objectives and activities.
“Again, congratulations, Mr. Governor, as we remain confident that Anambra State shall be better at the end of your eight-year tenure. The people have spoken, and the voice of the people is the voice of God.’
Meanwhile, the National Executive Council of Uke Development Union, the Royalty of Uke Ancient Kingdom, and the people of Uke Community, Idemili North LGA, have also congratulated the Governor.
The President General of the Community, Mr Peter Onyejegbu, in a press release jointly signed by HRH, Igwe Surv Charles Chuma Agbala, Oranyelu III, Igwe Uke, said: “Mr. Governor, Ndi Anambra have spoken. Their verdict is a testament to the excellent leadership trajectory of your administration.
“Ndi Uke Community join thousands of other well-wishers in congratulating you, Mr. Governor, for the landslide victory at the poll.
“We also wish you a successful result-oriented second term as the Governor of our dear state, Anambra, the Light of the Nation. Congratulations Mr. Governor, continue moving Anambra State forward like never before.’
