On Tuesday the 12th of August, Governor Soludo was seen with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Mr President Received him at The Presidential Villa Abuja.
When I saw the pictures from the State House and everyone’s face was beaming with smiles, and that kind of loosened up appearance of Mr President which gave this image of one chilling and relaxing with his resourceful friend and ally, I rose on my feet and clapped for a while. What came to my mind was the several times this President has given assignments directly to Anambra State Governor with trust and unshakable confidence, as if he is in APC. The words and zeal of his various Ministers in the soils of Anambra and the good news they’ve all carried. The visit of Mr President to Anambra State and the outcome from Mr President. Now, this one.
Remember, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has long been known for its ability to forge strong connections with the central government, a trait that has consistently proven beneficial for the party’s growth and influence in Nigerian politics. This strategic approach has always been demonstrated by APGA’s leaders, including former Governor Willie Obiano, who maintained a close relationship with President Muhammadu Buhari throughout his tenure.
Similarly, former Governor Peter Obi leveraged his close ties with President Goodluck Jonathan to advance the interests of Anambra State as much as he could.
Now, Governor Charles Soludo has taken the reins, continuing this tradition of cultivating strong relationships with the centre with visible economic advantages to the State.
By maintaining this trajectory, Governor Soludo is positioning Anambra State for continued growth and development, while also solidifying APGA’s presence in national politics. His ability to navigate the complex web of federal-state relations is amazing and already yielding dividends for the state and the party.
This enduring Culture and Connection to the centre is a testament to the party’s pragmatic approach to governance and its commitment to securing the best possible outcomes for its constituents. As the party continues to evolve and grow, its strategic relationships with the central government will undoubtedly remain a key factor in its success and Governor Soludo has proven that he understands how to make the most use of this State Culture
v What we are already witnessing
Governor Soludo’s efforts to maintain a strong relationship with the federal government are already yielding several benefits for Anambra State, including:
vImproved infrastructure development
– More inclusion of the State in the Federal Government Empowerment Schemes, unlike before.
Smooth Collaboration with The Military and other Federal Forces and the Improved Security it has occasioned in the State.
Also, APGA’s tradition of connecting with the centre has proven to be a winning strategy for the party.
By continuing this approach, Governor Soludo is already driving growth and development in Anambra State in an unprecedented manner, while also advancing APGA’s national ambitions.
Governor Soludo’s Ambition, Vision and Mission of Making something better out of the State we dearly love is a gift that will be appreciated even better from 20 years to come as the Foundatioms he is laying is not taking anything for granted including diplomatic, sociopolitical and Economic relationships.
Meanwhile, as the State looks to the future, its ability to build and maintain strong relationships with the central government in the Pattern of APGA will remain a crucial factor in its success while the Party continues to expand both Nationally and Regionally.
