Archbishop, Province of Bendel and Bishop of Ughelli Diocese, Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, The Most Reverend Cyril Odutemu has called on Christians to remain steadfast amidst socioeconomic situation confronting the nation saying that despite the hardship the People of God will continue to match forward.
Most Reverend Odutemu made the call while delivering a sermon at the investiture ceremony of Knights into the Orders of Knight of Saint Christopher and Knight of Blessed Virgin Mary conducted by the Bishop of the Niger Delta Diocese, Right Reverend Emmanuel Oko-Jaja at Saint Cyprians Anglican church, Hospital Road in Portharcourt on Saturday, 12th October 2024.
Fifty two Anglican faithfuls were knighted into the Orders of Saint Christopher and the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Most Reverend Odutemu while urging Christians to sustain their prayers for the sustainable peace and development of the country and its leaders, called on the leaders to be circumspect on the current hardship faced by the people and ensure they approach governance with sensitivity and responsibility by making informed decisions that will alleviate the sufferings of Nigerians.
The man of God who spoke on the Topic: *You Are Chosen For A Purpose* urged the new Knights and Ladies to indulge in activities that will advance the kingdom of Jesus Christ.
He advised them not to see their investiture as an automatic ticket for heaven but rather they should strive to fulfil God’s biblical mandate by propagating the Word of God and convert souls to Christ, adding that they should always do the will of God at all times.
Performing the Investiture ceremony of Knights, the Bishop Diocese of Niger Delta, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Right Reverend Emmanuel Oko-Jaja charged the knights elected into the Orders of Saint Christopher and Blessed Virgin Mary to see their investiture as a call for service to God and humanity.
Right Reverend Oko-Jaja who described the 2024 Set of knights as the best, urged them to always uphold the ideals of Christian faith while commending the guest preacher and Archbishop, Province of of Bendel, The Most Reverend Cyril Odutemu for equipping and preparing the new knights for the task ahead.
