…Honours Ali Pate, Tinubu, Emenike with Honorary Doctorate Degrees

Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka (UNIZIK), has kick-started the 19th Convocation ceremony of the institution with a press conference granted by the Ag. Vice Chancellor, Professor Joseph Ifeanyichukwu Ikechebelu, on behalf of the Senate, Management, staff, and students.
Addressing newsmen at the Council’s Chamber, Professor Ikechebelu, stated that the 19th Convocation Ceremonies, which started Wednesday with a Convocation Lecture delivered by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, CON, would and end on Friday, 28th March 2025.
He said that out of the 8157 graduates, 163 were Post Graduate Students, 706 were NTI postgraduate students, 680 were Master of Science, 463 were Doctorate Degree Students, 16 Doctorate Degree Students from University Business School and 3 Honorary degrees.
According to the University Don, there would be awards of prizes at the University auditorium, while on Thursday, there would be award of Bachelor degrees at the Convocation arena.
Friday would feature the foundation laying stone and the commissioning of completed projects, award of higher degrees, honorary degrees, and installation of Emeriti professors.
The Professor who spoke about the massive turnaround recorded in the school, stated that the three distinguished personalities that would receive the honorary degrees were the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate (Honorary Doctor of Health Administration); Barrister Seyi Tinubu (Honorary Doctor of Media Relations); and Chief Chika Emenike, CEO Tommy Tommy Noodles (Honorary Doctor of Commerce).
